Seafood Mains.

Seafood is not and never has been my favourite dish, but a tin of smoked fish or a packet of frozen shrimps in the freezer can form the basis of a quick and easy meal. I do not much like the taste of fish, and the smell I find even more off-putting. On top of that is a distinct moral queasiness about joining in the rape of the seas, but reality is what it is and a little bit goes a long way. You will note that many of these seafood recipes use smoked, canned or cured fish such as anchovies or sardines or smoked fish, all of which have a very strong flavour which means that only a small amount is needed. One small can of sardines, for example, is quite sufficient for Pasta alla Puttanesca for two.
